Today we were asked to bring in images and a statment that we thought described us, 5 personal images and 5 professional images.

5 Personal things about me
Football + Man United
I am a huge football and man united fan, watching every game and following everything they do takes a lot of dedication and gives me something i can then socialise with a lot of different people. Also playing football keeps me active and healthy and also giving me a way to get away from every day life.
Outdoors
I enjoy being outside and active, this again gives me a chance to socialise and have fun, it also keeps me healthy that in turn makes me feel better about myself and keeps my mind active. Being outside also helps to open the mind from seeing different things, instead of being cooped up in a little bubble inside.
Kind
I like to think that i am kind, offering people help when needed and avoiding confrontation in unnecessary situations. Being kind helps me to communicate with people and them with me, this helps me to be more approachable.
Wildlife
I am a huge fan of wildlife. The main reason being how important they are in keeping the planet rolling and many people take it for granted, i have also been drawn into wildlife by the captivating David Attenborough and his programs.
Films
I am a huge film fan, both watching films at home and going to the cinema. Films give you an insight into a world that you yourself would never of been able to experience, the film gives you the closest experience possible. They also let you see what things may be like in another universe, the super hero films being examples. Not only this but it provides spectacular pictures and imagery.
5 things about me as a designer
Illustration
I love to draw and produce illustrations, i then like to scan these images in and work from them off the computer. This then gives my work a more personal touch and is therefor more engaging.
Packaging Design
As a designer i find product and packing extremely interesting, the methods of packaging are endless. This is a reason that id like to research more into it and become better at it. Not only are there many ways of opening and closing packaging but the ways in which they can work together with the designs on the package interests me.
Simple Designs
I feel that the best designs that have been created are simple and use a small amount of colour. This is something i try to reproduce in my designs, this then gets the point across in a simple fashion with little distraction from other unnecessary items.
Layout and Composition
Another aspect of design that is very important is layout and composition, it is something that helps produce a well proportioned design. I feel my layout and composition is strong and helps me create designs that aren't too over crowded and illegible.
Information graphics
Another aspect of myself as a designer is that i feel i am strong at infographics, these interest me because the transformation that takes place from the boring data, facts and figures that are bland and uninteresting is remarkable, the infographic then makes this inforamtion a lot more presentable and engaging.
We were then put into groups of 5. We then split into a 2 and 3, taking away each other images but leaving the statements.
From looking at the images we had to create a list and then a statement of what we thought there personal images represented and what we thought there professional images represented. This was done once we had decided what images fit into which group.
SARAHS IMAGES
So for Sarah we generated a list of personal prefrences to be:
- Likes skiing
- Hates Cats
- Lives in London
- Organised
And her professional prefrences to be:
- Editorial and publishing
- Geometric
- Miminal
- Typography
We then devised a stament to describe her:
Sarahs personal interests include skiing and dislikes cats. From these images we can tell shes proud of her origins and is organised. This is shown by the minimal design she has chosen. These designs also show an interest in type and geometric design.

And his professional prefrences

His statement:
Seans personal inrterests show he likes to travel and socialise. His images also show he likes to party and take part in extreme sports. His design interests are editorial design and packaging. From the range of images he clearly has an interest in a large amount of design or he doesnt quite know what he likes at the moment.
