Studio Brief 3 - Message and Delivery: Distribution - CRIT

Crit

In this crit we displayed are work on the table on a white sheet of paper and then as a whole table we moved to another set of work so we could give feedback. In pairs we moved around the 3 sets of work, the questions we posed to ourselves were:

The conceptual development

Practical development

Production

Purpose

We then gave any additional comments and actions required.

The work we critiqued

These are the 3 sheets of critique that were given to the work shown above, the overall feeling was that the message was unclear, mainly because the type was illegible and there was confusion over the blood doping tube and the cup, which if i hadn't been told what it was would never of figured out.
Some feedback we gave was to use a different type and create a more visually strong image that could represent blood doping.

My critiqued work

Conceptual Development
Cycling and the benefits to your health. Clear message

Practical Development
Infographic appropriate to subject matter. informative tone + language
Visual outcome is appropriate but could be improved.
Font could be changed

Production
Yes the brief has been met, dimensions met
Mailing list doesn't include address - add on?
Not met brief in terms of colour. 7 colours use.
dimensions are fine
mailing list slightly odd considering your sending to people who already cycle

Purpose
Purpose to encourage people to cycle who don't already exercise

Actions Required
Print double sided on envelope + add addresses on mailing list
Quality of mailing improving
Its a bit plain so maybe change layout?
Change font
Stick to two colours plus stock
Improve the look of the pie chart

Evaluation

After my critiqued work i generally agree with what had been said, i do feel i have to change the font and that there is too many colours used. I also think that the poster is slightly flat so adding some colour to the text will look strong. I could also change the map so its not as cluttered and messy. Another thing that could be done is the envelops could be printed out on stronger stock. The strongest aspects of the poster are that there is a vast amount of information that can easily be ready and understood. The method of the info graphic closing into the envelope an interesting and clever method that makes people interact with the design as a whole.
