STUDY TASK 5 Where am i Now?

10 Things i have learned about myself as a individual and as a learner.

  1. I am not the best at time management, i come into college and stay there for a vast amount of hours and then when reflecting on how much work i have done there is a very small amount.
  2. That i am independent, doing daily necessities such as cleaning, cooking my own food and doing my own washing.
  3. Socializing with new people making me more confident when talking to strangers, this will then aid me when meeting design studios
  4. Overworking isn't always good, it can tire you out and will effect the quality of the work produced, so getting your work done whilst at uni and then coming home and resting will aid my work.
  5. When receiving work it is best to blog straight away and get it out the way, this then relates back to time management.
  6. Organizing my money will help me to spend money on things i need and not things that i dot need, like extra clothing or more shoes.
  7. Eating decent food helps prepare you for the day, also not eating unhealthy like ready meals and frozen food.
  8. Dealing with being ill by yourself is tough, organizing doctors appointments and looking after yourself. Being ill and overworking doesn't help anything and can just ruin work.
  9. That when im tired i find it hard to concentrate and do work, so getting to bed early, relating back to time management, will help me to concentrate and get work done.
  10. That tidying your room can only be done by me nobody else, the same also applies to the kitchen and living room. Also when bins haven't been taken out they do start to smell and just leaving them will not help this situation.

10 things i have learned about myself as a designer.

1.That i am capable of using design software such as Photoshop and Illustrator

2. That i have a growing interest in product and packaging

3. That i enjoy reading, looking at and making info graphics

4. Research is a fundamental aspect of design, it helps to aid work and isn't just something that amounts to a mass of paper and pictures.

5. That i have a growing interest in publication and editorial design

6. That having a quality print makes the work look a lot stronger than if it was on thin, also there is a lot longer process to preparing work for print and having the right settings makes a stronger image.

    7. That the work i produce or enjoy producing is very simple, with the use of a few colours and shapes, i feel this produces the best work and gets the point across in the most effective way without overwhelming the audience with loads of information.

    8. I have realised that i need to experiment more with my work, this will then open other doors and may give the work and different look and may also provide a different message.

    9. That my work has so far had a very infographic theme running through it, it is something i really enjoy doing, but looking into other areas will help me develop, for example i really enjoy drawing so maybe having some drawn images that are then scanned into illustrator will give an interesting look and design.

    10. That it is important to have set up a number of different social networking sights to get your work noticed and recognised, it also allows you to view other professionals and see whats going on and trending. For example i have set up Twitter, Pinterest, Issuu and Blogger.
